Too many people “judge a book by it’s cover”. Why do so many people think that they are better than others, judging other people, yet they are just as bad? Did you know that in judging another you turn the light on that opens the door for others to judge you? If you set the standard for another person, you need to live by that same standard. My point is that we need to look at ourselves before we start judging other people. This is exactly what Jesus talked about, during His sermon on the mount, in Luke 6. Before a Christian “judges” or examines another person (Christian or not) they need to recognize that (1) their judgment well be returned upon them, (2) make sure they are fully trained (emulating Jesus and trained in the Word of God) and (3) examine themselves. AND, when we do judge another person, we need to do so like Jesus; with mercy.
