On Sunday nights I have been preaching through a series titled "The Promises of God."  Last week we began a series within a series where we will spend several weeks focusing on "God's Promise of the Holy Spirit."  Specifically, yesterday night we talked about how the Holy Spirit is our teacher.

"SURPRISE! Jesus' Birth Foretold" - MORNING SERVICE 04292018

Yesterday we moved on to the Angel Gabriel's second "gender reveal" in the Gospel of Luke; his revealing to Mary that she will give birth to the long awaited Messiah.  I told my congregation that there is a lot we can learn about Mary and her future son (Jesus) from her interaction with Gabriel but that we can learn the most about God from this interaction.  If you remember nothing else from my sermon please remember this, "Nothing will be impossible with God." (Luke 1:37)

"God's Promise of the Holy Spirit: The Spirit of Truth" - EVENING SERVICE 04222018

On Sunday nights I have been preaching through a series titled "The Promises of God."  Last week we talked about "God's Promise of Salvation" and entered into the New Testament.  I had a hard time figuring out which direction to take this series of sermons but ended up deciding that, before we dig into God's Promises in the New Testament, that we will look at His promise of the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is Who allows us to understand scripture, Who comforts us, Who just takes care of us when we are in need.  We need to look at the Holy Spirit before we can go any farther into the New Testament promises.  So for the next several weeks we are going to look at God's promise of the Holy Spirit in John chapters 14-16.

"John the Baptist's Birth Foretold Part 2" - MORNING SERVICE 04222018

Sunday morning we finished looking at the Priest Zacharias' interaction with Gabriel in the Jerusalem Temple from Luke 1.  In total I made four statements (between last week and this week) which applied the lives of Zacharias and his wife Elizabeth to Christians today.  Yesterday I talked about how, even though Zacharias sinned against God, God still showed him favor.  The same is true for us today.  Christians can make mistakes, and know that God will never leave them or forsake them, because God loves them!

"John the Baptist's Birth Foretold Part 1" - MORNING SERVICE 04152018

Yesterday morning we started working our way through the Gospel of Luke by looking at the story of how the angel Gabriel announced to Zacharias that he was going to be a father.  About halfway through preparing this sermon I realized that I needed to break it in two.  This week I made two statements of application, taken from the lives of Zacharias and his wife Elizabeth, which apply to the lives of Christians today.  Next week I will make the final two statements.

"God's Promise to Noah" - EVENING SERVICE 04082018

On Sunday nights I have been preaching through a series titled "The Promises of God."  This week we looked at God's Promise to Noah that He would never destroy the entire world again.  At first, in preparing for this sermon, I through that the story was not worth talking about in our discussion of the promises of God yet I realize now how awesome the story.  Noah's experience is clearly an example of God's amazing grace and love for mankind.

"The Gospel According to Luke" - MORNING SERVICE 04082018

Sunday morning I began preaching through the Gospel of Luke.  Luke is an amazing man who often gets forgotten about when discussing New Testament people.  Yet Luke is credited with writing 28% of the New Testament (Gospel of Luke and Book of Acts).  We began our prolonged study of Luke's Gospel by getting some contextual information about the circumstances surrounding the book.
