On Sunday nights I have been
preaching through a series titled "The Promises of God." Last week we talked about "God's Promise
of Salvation" and entered into the New Testament. I had a hard time figuring out which
direction to take this series of sermons but ended up deciding that, before we
dig into God's Promises in the New Testament, that we will look at His promise
of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is
Who allows us to understand scripture, Who comforts us, Who just takes care of
us when we are in need. We need to look
at the Holy Spirit before we can go any farther into the New Testament
promises. So for the next several weeks
we are going to look at God's promise of the Holy Spirit in John chapters 14-16.
